24-7prayer.com: "The eXperience factor" (by Pete Greig)

"I was brought up to believe that we should somehow believe God's Word over and above our feelings. I was even taught that when people become Christians they should not expect to feel anything. The fact that God has just forgiven your sins, entered your life and saved you for eternity is fully expected to bypass your emotions. This seems incredibly strange to me. I'm not suggesting that our feelings are always true, but I am absolutely convinced that God designed our emotions to walk hand in hand with our choices. Imagine someone getting married because it 'makes sense' without having any feelings for the one they are about to marry. You might be concerned. How much more should we question a theology that writes experience out of the process of salvation?"

Gut, wat komt mij dit bekend voor...

Goed verhaal, van de 24-7Prayer website (alweer...).
