Bono - Grace over Karma
Prachtig, dit interview met Bono in Christianity Today. Kwam het ook maar toevallig tegen, was niet naar iets speciaals op zoek. Wel even een prachtige quote, ter inleiding:
"It's a mind-blowing concept that the God who created the universe might be looking for company, a real relationship with people..."
Een "relationship with people", dat gaat dus om mij. En jou. En de buren...
Er staan nog meer fraaie opmerkingen in, maar die ga ik niet verklappen. Nou ja, eentje dan:
Interviewer vraagt: Christ has his rank among the world's greatest thinkers. But Son of God, isn't that farfetched?
Bono: (eerst een stuk tekst en uitleg en dan:) Either Christ was who He said He was —the Messiah— or a complete nutcase. Dan weer een stuk tekst-en-uitleg en dan: The idea that the entire course of civilization for over half of the globe could have its fate changed and turned upside-down by a nutcase, for me, that's farfetched ….
